THE NATIONAL MUSEUM – main building (map)

The National Museum (Národní museum) founded in 1818 is the oldest Czech museum. It is situated in a beautiful neo-renaissance building at Wenceslas square.

National museum consists from 20 individual buildings spread in Praha and other parts of the Czech Republic. Each building is dedicated to a different theme. By buying a 3 day ticket you can visit all buildings in the town:



ALFONS MUCHA MUSEUM Panska 7 (map)

Museum is dedicated to the life and work of the world-acclaimed Czech ART NOUVEAU artist Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). It is situated in the center just 5 minutes walking from the Wenseslas square...All necessary information as opening hours, location etc. you can find here.



PRAGUE CITY MUSEUM Na Porici 52 (map)

Opening hours: daily 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. except Monday.Permanent exhibitions: Prague from prehistoric times up to Baroque. Langweil's model of Prague from 1826 - 1837, a unique 20 square-meters three dimensional piece of work made of paper and wood.



BERTRAMKA – MUSEUM of W.A. MOZART Mozartova 169 (map)

A place, where W.A.Mozart lived in the second half of 17th century while composing his opera Don Giovanni.Personal items, musical instruments, historic engravings, paintings and documents on Mozart’s stay in Prague.All necessary information as opening hours, location etc. you can find here.



MUSEUM OF COMMUNISM Na Prikope 10 (map)

The museum is depicting the era of communism 1948 – 1989 in the Czech Republic under the slogan: "Communism - the Dream, the Reality, and the Nightmare". All necessary information as opening hours, location etc. you can find here.



ARTS AND CRAFTS MUSEUM 17. Listopadu 2 (map)

Exhibitions on Czech and Central European art handicraft of the 16th - 19th century. Collection of glass, ceramics, porcelain, furniture, works of metal, textiles, dress accessories, miniatures etc. All necessary information as opening hours, location etc. you can find here.



FRANZ KAFKA MUSEUM Cihelna 2b (map)

Exhibition on the life and works of well known representative of Prague German literature, one of the most significant prose writers in 20th-century. Opening hours: Tuesday – Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.



MUSEUM OF TOYS Jirská 4 (map)

It is a second largest museum of this kind in the world. Museum exhibits toys from ancient Greece up to modern and most popular from all over the world, including a huge collection of Barbie dolls (there is even a pregnant version of these).Opening hours: daily 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.



U FLEKU BREWERY MUSEUM Kremencova 11 (map)

The U Fleku Museum explains the beer production process. The brewery produces beer only for own consumption in the restaurant U Fleku..It is one of the most famous beer halls in the Czech Republic - with a history dating back to the mid-14th century. JEWISH MUSEUM U stare skoly 1 (map)

The Jewish Museum has one of the most extensive collections of Judaic art in the world, including 40,000 items and 100,000 books coming exclusively from - Bohemia and Moravia. The exhibitions of the Jewish Museum in Prague are located in following historic sites: The Maisel Synagogue, Pinkas Synagogue, Old Jewish Cemetery, Klausen Synagogue, Ceremonial Hall (Prague Burial Society Building), Spanish Synagogue, Robert Guttmann Gallery and the Education and Culture Centre. CHARLES BRIDGE MUSEUM Krizovnicke nam. 3 (map)

TORTURE MUSEUM Krizovnicke nám. 1 (map)

Medievel torture instruments, ilustrative engravings with explanation in English.
