The history of the park goes back to 1885. Its arrangement fully respects the character of the environment and surrounding landscape. Flowers and trees are sensitively dispatched in the park in a close to natural way – you will not find there any artificial cuttings of trees into funny, figure like, shapes or flowers arranged into ornaments or pictures etc.... The park is designed in a way, that it offers visitors all year round a breath taking long hours walks in ever changing environment and scenes. Paths are laid in natural curves respecting terrain stratas and offering nice view point. You will walk in the forest, under hundreds years old trees; around purling creeks; passing blooming meadows; admiring areas full of variety of flowers growing naturally in “open space”. During the spring (first two-three weeks in May) you can find there over 8,000 pieces of blooming rhododendrons of over 150 species accompanied with numerous species of azaleas and later irises.
During summer there are organized concerts in the chateau courtyard, shows of birds of prey. You can be a witness of an and open-air wedding ceremonies as well. In the autumn the park is just a beautiful place of gold, yellow, red and brown colored leafs. A good time for romantic walks under trees admiring the sun shining through this beautiful palette of colors. For those who prefer more concentrated flower exhibition at one place there is a Botanic garden – part of Pruhonice park. It is worth to see especially during time of bloom. The park is opened all round the year: - April to October: 7 am to 7 pm
- November to March: 8 am to 5 pm
It is worth to take a short drive from Prague and get into a totally different, relaxing and romantic environment.
